The FIRST Huddersfield Blitz Tournament
Huddersfield will be holding a Blitz tournament on Sunday 28th June 2009 at the Ukrainian Club.
This will be the first such tournament to be held by Huddersfield and we have no knowledge of anyone else staging such a tournament either so it will be interesting to see how it goes and the response we get - we are expecting a frantic afternoons chess but hopefully it will prove enjoyable and become another of our annual events that people will look forward to coming to.
For this year, with it being the first, we are not charging any entry fee but likewise we will not be presenting any monetary prizes either - all we ask is that you confirm to us that you will be entering.
It will be a single section swiss tournament with no grades being used.
Note that we are limiting entries to 80 so enter soon - we are now at 18 and hoping for more.

Huddersfield Congress 2009 (27th-29th March 2009)
This year it was our 7th and most successful congress with a total of 135 entries which beats our first congress total of 118 and we have a new champion in Stewart Haslinger GM who had a 100% record winning all 5 games.

The last weekend in March is the Huddersfield Congress weekend so next year it will be on 26-28th March 2010.
